Sustainability

Ian and Neil Udale come from Cumbrian farming stock, stretching back hundreds of years and so have a good understanding of the importance of traditional sustainable hill farming in the Lake District.

Below are just some of our commitments to sustainability to help our customers meet their net zero goals.

  • At Udale's we work with local  farmers who practice sustainable farming methods to produce high welfare meat for us in a clean and green way.

  • We have a dedicated highly skilled work force , 90% of whom live in walking or cycling distance. Our staff can benefit from the government's 'cycle to work scheme'.

  •  No gas or oil, we only use renewable electricity.

  •  Our aim is to start replacing our van fleet with electric vehicles in 2023.

  •  Use recyclable or biodegradable packaging where possible.
